The Lane Cove National Park occupies a bushland valley in Northern Sydney, extending along the Lane Cove River from Fullers Bridge, Chatswood. Very popular weekend destination among Sydneysiders for its proximity, lavish green areas, woodfire barbecue facilities, a river with a paddleweeler to ride on, row boat hire facilities and the Kukundi Wildlife Shelter. The area is rich with aboriginal and European settlers history, although visible evidence of it is rarely found here. Rich wildlife includes possums, king parrots, fairy-wren and diamond pythons and more. Free entry (fee applies for cars). Be early to pick a picnic spot.
