This bush-style park located among elite palace-style houses at Vaucluse could be a hidden gem for an unsuspecting visitor. Gorgeous giant fig trees in the park and large rocks along the shore make walking a pleasure, while shark beach is an excellent beach where swimming is secured by a shark proof net (hence the name?). The area is an extremely popular destination on a warm sunny weekend or for any outdoor party. Parking space on such a day is extremely limited, so be prepared to leave your car half a kilometer down the street.

One of the most special places in Sydney to relax, unwind, play with your kids and take in the beautiful scenery. As it snows here in the North East (USA), I dream of building sand castles with my son at Nielsen Park. Not to be missed if you want to get away from the crowds that flock to better known spots like Bondi. Enjoy!

Fantastic spot to relax on a sunny afternoon... Great for swimming (meshed enclosure) & sunbaking, a bushwalk or just spending the time of day as you watch the harbour ferries and sailboats passing by. One of Sydney`s special spots!
