Unfortunately this market is going to change for the worst. The Sydney Harbour Forshore Authority has plans to do away with our beautiful canopy and replace it with small umbrellas like they have in any other markets. those umbrellas won`t give much protection from rain in the windy Rocks area as they are prone to topple over. There won`t be any more permanent stall holders: stall holders will have to apply every Monday to find out on Thursday if they will have a stall on Saturday and/or Sunday or no stall at all to sell the works they have spent all week making. There will not be any more storage for stall holders so they have to cart all their stock and display from home to the market and back both days, all these additionnal vehicles will create chaos in this area already short of parking space, not to mention the difficulties experienced by those stall holders who don`t drive or who live interstate. We are not against change: improve product quality, introduce more stalls with locallly hand made products, that would be welcome. But there is no reason to introduce meaningless changes that will destroy our market.

Very friendly atmosphere. Quite a variety of good quality goods to select from. Very presentable. Ideal Gift shopping if you want to impress your loved ones. Very organised Market Standard embracing worlds best practice in behaviour & display. Demonstrates promotion of Australian creative talent which are irrestisible. |

The Rocks in Sydney is the most historical place in the City. I loved the ambience of the place. The places oozes class and if you want to see a different side to Sydney, then this is the place to go. Pay a visit to the oldest pub in Sydney, sit out enjoy a coffee in the market square, whatever you want to do, just make sure this is one of your must see places!! |
